Typically regenerative braking is associated with hybrids, and for good reason. The innovative technology can help give the electric powetrain in a hybrid model a bit more kick in order to increase the miles that it can travel on a tank of gas. This, however, does not mean that the tech is limited to hybrid models, as Mazda is now proving.
